Inspired by the Critically Endangered Saola
This design is named in honour of the saola, one of the world’s rarest and most critically endangered mammals. Native to the forests of Laos and Vietnam, the species faces severe threats from widespread snaring.
A 2020 WWF report estimated that around 12 million snares are present in protected areas across Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia at any given time. These inexpensive traps indiscriminately capture animals ranging from small mammals to large species such as elephants — including the elusive saola.
