A Story Rooted in Assam, Perfected in Kenya
The journey of this remarkable tea begins far from Kenya, in the lush foothills of the Himalayas. During the 19th century, British planters in Assam dedicated themselves not only to growing tea but also to developing new leaf styles and manufacturing techniques. With limited access to Chinese production secrets, they began experimenting—leading to the creation of grading systems such as OP, FBOP, GBOP, and TGFOP.
One pioneering figure was George Williamson, whose expertise and commitment to quality made his teas highly sought-after at the London auctions. In the early 2000s, Williamson’s company transitioned from Assam to Kenya, bringing generations of tea knowledge and craftsmanship with them. Their arrival helped usher in a new era of Kenyan tea production, shifting from predominantly CTC manufacturing to more traditional, artisanal leaf styles.
The result of this heritage and innovation is the Kosabei Estate TGFOP—a tea that honours the Assam legacy while celebrating Kenya’s exceptional seasonal leaf.

All returned products will be examined upon receipt by the seller. Refunds or exchanges cannot be offered on any opened or used products unless they are faulty. Once your return has been received and accepted by the seller, a refund will be issued via the original payment method. Original shipping charges will not be refunded. An exchange can only be arranged with the original seller.
