The 40cm straight empire shade in red Zaraband gathered linen by GP & J Baker is a lampshade from Pooky in Red. The Zaraband design pays homage to the noble traditions of early 19th-century Central Asian textiles. Inspired by an Abra smock from the period, the Zaraband ikat features delicate tonal transitions that echo the elegant patterns of silk Abra kurtas, which were once worn exclusively by aristocratic women to display both wealth and power.
