KLORIS CBD Oil Review – Will It Help You Sleep?
If you are still blissfully unaware of it, CBD is the current buzzword in health and wellness. Studies have shown that CBD has a number of known health benefits, including easing symptoms of anxiety and stress and tackling physical pain and even more serious illnesses, like epilepsy.
So, what exactly is CBD? It stands for cannabidiol, one of the components found in the cannabis or hemp plant. Unlike marijuana, by itself it does not cause a “high.” The psychoactive ingredient found in marijuana, THC, isn’t present in CBD in any real way. It is also non-toxic and crucially not addictive.
But can CBD help with both falling asleep and staying asleep? While there’s still more scientific research to be done, preliminary studies have been in favour of CBD as an effective natural remedy for insomnia sufferers, thanks to the way it interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, one of the body’s regulatory systems that helps control everything from mood to memory, stress to sleep and reproduction. One of the major reasons why most people don’t sleep is because they’re stressed out, they’re anxious and they can’t quiet their racing thoughts and CBD can be a helpful antidote to anxiety and insomnia. A recent review of 72 adults with anxiety or poor sleep who took CBD oil found that anxiety scores decreased within the first month in 79.2 per cent and remained decreased during the study duration. Sleep scores also improved within the first month in 66.7 per cent. Similarly, studies have shown that CBD oil can improve your stress response, which can in turn help you to relax. CBD has also been shown to improve sleep in people who suffer from chronic pain.
When researching available CBD products, keep in mind that in fact not all CBD products are the same and the quality between CBD products varies greatly between different manufacturers. The methods used to manufacture CBD directly affect the safety and quality of products you might buy. Look for a CBD product that is as pure and as potent as possible. It’s worth spending money on a strong CBD product that you’ll only need a few drops each day rather than going for something cheap that is likely to be low quality and ineffective. Ensure its non-GMO and organic as for the sake of purity you want your CBD to be free of pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilisers and also check whether there is a lab certificate of analysis showing the amount of CBD in the product. Aim for a full spectrum CBD. This means that a wide range of cannabinoids are present in the oil (including vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, protein, chlorophyll, terpenes, and flavonoids) which are thought to be more effective at fighting pain and inflammation, with a longer lasting effect. Finally, check the percentage of THC, if more than 0.2% the product is illegal and unregulated.
KLORIS CBD products satisfies all of the above criteria. All of its products contain the highest quality organic European grown Cannabis Sativa L extracts available in the UK today. Additionally, its hemp oil is independently rigorously tested and certified by a CTA approved lab for potency and purity. This guarantees that what you get in the container is exactly what KLORIS promises. Its products are also full spectrum, suitable for vegans, gluten free, organic and GMO free.
I have struggled with insomnia over the years so was intrigued when I started hearing about CBD and welcomed the opportunity to put KLORIS 1000mg (10%) 10ml CBD oil drops to the test. Oil is probably the most popular form of CBD, but it can also be taken in capsule form, in balms, in food, or as chewable gummies.
If you haven’t taken CBD oil before, KLORIS recommend starting on 500mg (5%) CBD oil because its best to start on a fairly low dosage and gradually build up. As mentioned, CBD oil is not addictive and you cannot overdose on it, however there can be mild side effects if too much is taken. It is very straight forward to take, just use the built-in dropper to administer 2-5 drops of the oil under the tongue and hold it there for around 90 seconds before swallowing. This helps the CBD to enter your system and get to work faster. Each 10ml bottle contains approximately 200 drops.
After two weeks of taking CBD oil every night, it was clear that I was starting to see positive results. I found that within 30 minutes of taking it I felt more relaxed and my mind had stopped racing. When my head hit the pillow, I went straight to sleep and most nights I didn’t wake until morning.
CBD certainly worked for me, but will it work for everyone? It’s possible that you’ll find that CBD doesn’t work for you. Everyone’s body is different and the way your endocannabinoid systems reacts to cannabis is highly individualised, so for a few people, CBD might actually energise them, keeping them awake at night. People’s responses have a lot to do with how they personally process the product, and how cannabinoid receptors are distributed throughout the body. This is why it’s also difficult to standardise dosing recommendations for CBD as some people require more or less to feel the effects. Used regularly there’s very little reason to believe people develop a resistance to CBD over time. However, some people will experience negative side effects like irritability, nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea.
So, is CBD the miracle cure for insomnia? There may not be enough scientific data yet to say for sure, and it obviously depends on the person but since I started taking KLORIS CBD oil at night, I’ve enjoyed better sleep by feeling more relaxed with a calmer mind. So, if you struggle with anxiety, stress or a racing mind, and it’s keeping you awake at night, I do recommend trying CBD oil as it could well be the solution.
(For those of you being kept awake with arthritis and associated inflammatory pain, KLORIS also produces a high strength (800mg) luxury CBD balm. The balm allows absorption of CBD through the skin into your endocannabinoid system, thereby targeting the CB2 receptors that are present throughout the body and are known to affect inflammation and pain).
